about me
Hi, I’m Pragya.
Professional overthinker, eldest daughter and recovering perfectionist.
I’ve always wanted to be the best at everything I do. Two degrees at the same time, a master’s in AI in Edinburgh, a job before I’d even graduated. Work and academics were my everything.
All well and good. But resting, putting myself first, realising work isn’t everything? Nobody ever taught me those. For a long time I treated rest like something I had to earn. I’d overthink the small things, redo things that were already fine, and only let myself stop once everything was perfect. Which, of course, it never was.
So I’m teaching myself, a bit imperfectly. On a random Sunday, I took out my laptop and wrote a letter, hoping it would push me to actually start. That letter became the club, and the club became this little shop.
Learning imperfection isn’t just about doing new things. It’s also about accepting the parts of myself I think of as imperfect.
Now I make the things I needed: a letter that turns up once a month and gives you permission to slow down, imperfectly. No apps, no streaks, nothing to get right. Alongside it, tiny stickers with big feelings, a mystery bag for when you can’t choose, and soon, a blind date with a hobby.
We’re starting with rest, using Dr Saundra Dalton-Smith’s seven types of rest. From there we’ll explore other parts of wellbeing, one month at a time.
Learning Imperfection is just me, alongside my full-time job, so every order supports one person and a small idea that’s still growing.
If you’re an overthinker, an overworker, or just tired of chasing perfect, I hope this feels like a small exhale.
And lastly, remember: being imperfect at something is still better than not doing anything at all.
P.S. A few things about me: I’m happiest somewhere new, especially with a hike involved, and I’m always listening to an audiobook (current faves: the Throne of Glass series and Project Hail Mary).
P.P.S. Spoiler alert: I did overthink this page.
